The American Flint Glass Workers Union is holding a special convention in Pittsburgh to vote on a proposed merger with the United Steelworkers union.
Delegates representing 12,000 members of the Toledo, Ohio-based union opened the meeting yesterday at the Pittsburgh Hilton and Towers and are scheduled to vote on the merger today. The USW absorbed the Aluminum Brick & Glass Workers Union in 1997.
