Gentex Announces Shipments for New Honda Accord

Date: 31 August 2007

Gentex Corporation, the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors, today announced that it has begun shipping auto-dimming mirrors for the new 2008 Honda Accord.

The mirrors darken automatically in response to the headlamp glare of rearward-approaching vehicles.

The Honda Accord, one of the largest global automotive vehicle platforms, will feature an interior auto-dimming mirror as optional equipment on certain trim levels for the Accord around the globe, including being standard in the EX V6 sedan package. The Accord platform will also offer as optional equipment exterior driver- and passenger-side auto-dimming mirrors for Accords sold in certain Asian markets.

"This is a very significant new business win for Gentex," said Senior Vice President Enoch Jen. "Honda is ramping up its use of auto-dimming technology and Gentex is proud to be their partner in the promotion of this safety feature. We look forward to continuing our work with Honda."
