Emplas has completed a rigorous external audit to retain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Committed to the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental management, Emplas completed a detailed audit by external inspectors from the British Standards Institute earlier this year.

The re-award of the three ISO standards represents formal recognition of the commitment Emplas and those working for it, have made to continually improving product quality, safety and environmental protection.

John London, Quality Assurance Manager, Emplas said: “To retain three ISO standards is a significant achievement and has involved and is a credit to the hard work of all members of the team.

“This included an assessment against new and tougher quality and environmental standards, making it even more of an achievement.”

It means that Emplas currently holds PAS 99:2012 (Integrated Management Registration); ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System); OHSAS 18001:2007 (Health and Safety Management System and ISO14001:2015 Environment Management System).

Emplas has matched a multi-million pound investment in the last year in new machinery and the expansion of its operating facility, with continuous improvement in its internal processes.

This has included a six-figure spend on cloud technologies and networking infrastructures, linking its online ordering systems with the production process and the launch of a new stock control module, driving efficiencies and improved customer service levels.

Ryan Johnson, Managing Director, Emplas said: “ISO are incredibly important standards for us, not as box ticking exercise but because they allow us to measure and asses our performance against the key criteria that we have set ourselves.

“That is to continually work to do what we do better, more safely, to minimize the impact we have on the environment.

“This has been accompanied by the work that we are doing to deliver increased transparency of processes to our customers so that we move from supplier to supply partner, and become the manufacturing centre of their own operations.”
