Emirates Float Glass LLC achieved 1 Million man hours without Loss Time Injury

Emirates Float Glass [EFG], the first state-of-art integrated float glass facility in the UAE, has achieved 1 Million man hours without Loss Time Injury.

A ceremony was conducted on 28th May 2014 in line with the achievement which was attended by top executives of Abu Dhabi Sector Regulatory Authorities and Government agencies (Industrial Development Bureau of Abu Dhabi [IDB] , ZonesCorp etc ), EFG Board of Directors and 3rd Party entities involved in the achievement."/UserFiles/1(711).jpg">

To commemorate this special occasion, Mr.Fahad Al Braidi (IDB HSE Vice President) presented the certificate and special appreciation award to Mr.Ghassan Mashal - General Manger EFG.

 

Mr. Fahad Al Braidi stated that "IDB assures its continued support to Emirates Float Glass and all Industrial Entities. The Industrial Sector EHS Regulatory Authority has been at the forefront of implementation of the occupational health and safety legislation and has excelled in assisting industrial entities to maintain safe workplace. There has been an enthusiastic and ongoing safety commitment from EFG management, supervision and all of the workforce to provide continual training; preventative programs; communication of safe work practices; sharing of lessons learned from observations and incidents; and good site safety vigilance so that everyone works safely every day."

Ghassan Mashal, EFG General Manager, said: "We feel honored to receive this special appreciation award from IDB & DED - Abu Dhabi, which is a testimony of our commitment towards safe working environment to all our employees. Since our inception, we have set standards in all what we do and excel in our business operations".

 

The macro approach of the EFG LLC in terms of Occupational Health and Safety greatly improved the company's total performance. Implementing and monitoring best safety practices and activities enhanced the company's capability in fostering a positive attitude to every employee in terms of Occupational Health and Safety awareness. As a result, the Loss time injury incident rate in Emirates Float Glass LLC drastically went down and was eliminated starting in the early 4th quarter of 2012.
