Towns and municipalities with up to 20,000 inhabitants can as of now register to compete with their activities for climate protection – patron of the competition is climate researcher Professor Mojib Latif – Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.

V. honours six communes and ten municipal climate protection projects - closing date for entries: 31st December 2008 The Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V. (DUH) is calling upon towns and municipalities to participate in its “Climate Protection Commune 2009” competition.It is open in one class up to 5,000 inhabitants and in a second class up to 20,000 inhabitants. From all entries the “Climate



Protection Commune 2009 – national winner” will be chosen. In addition, the DUH will award three prizes in each of the two categories and commend ten exemplary climate protection projects of communes. The Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt and the climate protection initiative CO2NTRA of Saint-Gobain Isover G+H AG are sponsoring the project.
