This year sees the largest ever edition of The Big 5, which has grown over three decades to be the biggest construction and build show in the Middle East, Africa and East Asia. It is a focus for buyers from more than 120 nations.

It is celebrated in the show Preview Magazine published today, which is the only official news publication for the event, published by the Big 5 organiser dmg events.

It takes a look inside the show including the conference and workshop programme and all the special events over the four days.

With GCC countries  set to award $195.67 billion this year alone on construction projects – that is up almost $35bn compared with last year – there is only one focus for the industry in November, says Andy White, the Group Event Director.

In an exclusive interview, White explains that new attractions are set to make this year’s event not only the largest, but its most successful. (See page 4 of The Big 5 Preview)

It also takes a look at setting up business in the region with an inside look at the Jebel Ali Free Zone
in Dubai. It offers a ‘unique proposition’ for business success, says its Senior VP of Sales Adil Al Zarooni.

He is due to speak at the How to Trade in the UAE seminar on Wednesday, November 19, at The Big 5. In an exclusive interview on page 34 of the Preview, Al Zarooni pledged that no business should fail in the UAE due to the operation of the freezone. Jafza opened in 1985 with 19 companies, today there are 7,300 according to the latest figures available and that number grows year on year.

The Preview also meets some of the exhibitors to discover their products and why The Big 5 is important to their business.
