Apex Aluminum Extrusions appoints a Vice President of Engineering

Apex Aluminum Extrusions, a premium North American aluminum extruder, announced on July 17th, 2019 that Tony Da Silva, MBA, P.Eng., has been appointed as Vice President, Engineering.

Tony’s extensive experience spans more than 20 years in aluminum extrusions and includes all significant specialized areas of the business including die shop, extrusion, coatings, maintenance, and research and development.

“Tony has proven himself to be instrumental in the growth and expansion of aluminum extrusion factories.” Says Bill de Koning, Chief Operating Officer of Apex Aluminum Extrusions, “Tony has successfully implemented capital expansion projects in the tens of millions of dollars: his knowledge, experience in combination with his hands-oncapabilities make me very confident that Tony will bring continued success to our team and to our assertive growth objectives.

Tony has led teams in facilities across Latin America, California, Alberta and Ontario in roles ranging from General Manager to Vice President of Operations. He has published and presented papers at the International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar, a prestigious think-tank for aluminum extruders.

Tony Da Silva will report directly to Bill de Koning, Chief Operating Officer of Apex Aluminum Extrusions. Tony’s role will oversee the Maintenance, Production, and Engineering departments.
