All-new SPT2 a big hit at glasstec

Date: 3 November 2014

The SPT2 incorporates a number of innovations and advancements including a controlled-velocity pressure generation system and a high-precision volume measurement system.

The SPT2’s pressure generations system can pressurize containers at very low pressures all the way up to 1000 psi (1 minute equivalent) while providing extremely accurate and controlled pressurization throughout the testing process according to ASTM C147 or ISO 7458.The volume measurement system on the SPT2 utilizes positive-displacement technology that makes it possible to fill at any rate, without compromising accuracy or repeatability yet provide laboratory-quality measurement results within seconds. Some of the other key features of the SPT2 highlighted at the show include a Linux-based operating system; dynamic bottle handling that accommodates a range of bottle sizes and finishes without job change parts, advanced polymer pressure seals, stainless steel construction, and most importantly testing throughput of up to 300 bph.In addition to the SPT2, the Agr Dimensional Sampling Gauge was displayed at the show.  The DSG provides comprehensive measurement capabilities for glass containers including dimensional, weight, bore, pushup and thickness. The SPT2 and DSG can operate on a stand-alone basis or work seamlessly together as part of Agr’s OmniLab® automated measuring station to provide comprehensive measurements as well as weight, volume and pressure data with hands-free operation.

The launch of SPT2 heralds a new era of automated testing. To learn more about this exciting new testing and measurement system contact your local Agr sales office.
