Tempered Glass and Heat Strenghtend Glass

Hi everyone. I just wanted to have a clear idea on the exact different of tempered glass and heat-strengthened glass. Can we treat both types the same in term of structure application?

No. HS glass is only half as strong as FT glass. HS glass subject to more load creep than FT glass and in event of failure mode is very different. HS breaks in shards and retains some stiffness. FT breaks in cubical fragments and retains little stiffness - falls from frame. Using in structural sense need to know application.
