Imagery and Landscapes in Glass

August 6, 2010 to August 9, 2010 Instructor: Amanda Taylor Cost: $800.00 – Includes all materials and lunch each day. Location: Oatka School of Glass, Batavia, NY Class Info: “Painting with Glass” refers to a set of techniques which produces painterly effects on the surface or within the glass body. This is not your traditional painting techniques used for centuries on stained glass. Students will use different glass elements (glass powders, frits, stringers, enamels, and various unconventional tools) which will allow you to create shading, texture, and other design elements that become encapsulated within and on the surface of the piece. It is a celebration of the transparency, color and vibrancy that only glass as a medium can capture.
