Polyvision film, commonly called privacy film and or electrically switch-able film, is one of the products that Polytronix, Inc., a USA based private company manufactures. The product is based on a patented technology -- Polymer dispersed liquid crystal by Kent State University, Ohio, USA.The film needs to be laminated in between glass to make privacy glass.The glass can instantly be changed from milky white to transparent or vise versa and hence provide the both openness and privacy at a flip of a switch. Polyvision glass is used in high end interior remodeling for conference rooms, executive offices, residential houses, bank teller windows, dividers in hospital intensive care areas, jails and so on. Polyvision film or glass is also used as optical shutter in instrumentation.
