Andrew Hawkins, chief executive of the Investor Relations Society said: "I would like to congratulate all the winners of this year's awards. We received more than 500 nominations for the eight Awards, so competition has been really fierce, with standards extremely high.
"There is no doubt that companies are rising to the challenge of 'connecting' with investors and potential investors through their websites. What was considered best practice for last year's awards has become more standard practice this year. To win in 2003 companies needed to show an outstanding commitment to high standards and offer investors access to a range of information that went beyond the norm."
In 2002, the Pilkington site won the 'Most improved IR website' award and a commendation in the FTSE 250 category.
