Optical inspection solutions for thin glass highly sought after - Real-time, micron scale survey: FLOATSCAN & FLAT PANEL MASTER

Date: 12 August 2014

Delivering highest quality on a constant basis - ISRA inspection systems for thin glass are designed to supply manufacturers with critical information, enabling them to significantly improve their production and thereby achieve greater success.

Based on advanced technologies the systems are a recognized standard worldwide and are being used by manufacturers around the globe – and while you are reading this, over a dozen more are being prepared for installation at major production lines.ISRA has received a large volume order from top Chinese companies. Xinyi Glass and Henan Haichuan Glass have ordered several FLOATSCAN-Thin Superior systems while Dongxu Group has acquired a set of more than ten Flat Panel Master systems for the inspection of glass substrates. The orders add up to a sum of over 5 Million Euros and impressively outlines the high level of trust that leading Chinese glass companies put in ISRA.

FLOATSCAN-Thin Superior

FLOATSCAN is the standard for float glass inspection. The patented technology used such as multi-view, multi-dimensional, multi-spectral and the inline Moiré technology as industry standard, helps to assure highest quality.  With its 5 optical channels the system is capable to inspect the glass ribbon at highest resolution down to some microns in real time for all relevant quality features.

With its location at Wuhu , Xinyi Glass - Hong Kong - is one of the largest quality float glass manufacturers in  China. The company has ordered several FLOATSCAN-Thin Superior for its float lines. The special high-resolution systems will assure a best possible quality of the products mainly used for flat panel display glass applications. Equipped with state-of-the-art high-resolution cameras and advanced image processing capabilities, the solutions reliably inspect all thin glass material at all  thickness ranges.

FLAT PANEL MASTER product line

For the customer Dongxu Group, ISRA will be delivering more than ten Flat Panel Master (FPM) systems. The FPM product line is a complete solution for the contact-free in-line inspection of thin glass substrates consisting of:

FPM-PARTICLE: Counting of smallest particles down to microns to assure  clean room stability
FPM-INSPECT:
Detection of all surface defects for best further processing
FPM-EDGE:
Edge and size measurement to minimize breakage and assure best grínding
FPM-REVIEW:
Analyzing of selectable defects of interest for further process optimization

Dongxu Group relies on the cutting-edge technology to increase quality and efficiency of its thin glass substrate production. The order consists of six systems for the inspection of 6th generation substrates, three systems to be integrated at lines for 5th generation products and six systems dedicated to semiconductor substrate inspection. Flat Panel Master combines 100% defect recognition and tools for process optimization to maximize throughput. It helps strengthen leading position of Dongxu Group on the global market.

The high order entry once again proves that ISRA’s sophisticated technologies match the requirements of customers and are very attractive for major glass manufacturers around the globe.
