Among 102 contestants, 27 glass containers manufactured by Vitro for prestigious national and international companies such as Jugos del Valle, Donna Karan and Bacardi, among others, where awarded by the Mexican Packaging Association during the 2003 edition of the “Stellar Containers” awards ceremony which was held Mexico City on Monday June 2, 2003, and specific products were recognized because its market performance, as well as its aesthetic and ergonomic characteristics.The key objective of the “2003 Stellar Container” annual contest, is to recognize creativity, innovation, variety of materials used, environmental efforts, as well as cost in all of the participating containers.

The winner containers have the right to participate in the World Packaging Organization (WPO) Annual Award Contest that will be held shortly in United States.

The Mexican Packaging Association is one of the economy’s most dynamic engines, because it integrates a significant group of companies that manufacture containers and packaging products for end consumers in Mexico.

Vitro submitted 29 qualified glass containers which had complied with the contest requirements, such as content protection and conservation, attractive design, product quality, cost, and recycling properties, among others that the jury evaluated.

By using glass containers, “we are being able to add value to the product’s content”, says Victoria Aldana, Jugos Del Valle´s Brand Manager. “We have jointly developed creative products that can be differentiated from other; such is the Florida 7 Blend, which has had an extraordinary acceptance by consumers.

“Packaging in glass containers allows us to better communicate our products freshness and hygiene attributes”, assured Aldana. “It is essential to achieve differentiation in a more competitive domestic market.

In Vitro we wish to reinforce our market share in the Mexican Packaging Industry, by providing satisfaction in design and added value to the products we manufacture”, said Roberto Romero, Vitro´s Glass Containers Marketing Manager.

Today glass containers are part of our lives, not only because they fulfill they’re original mission of preserving the product’s natural properties, but because they are more attractive, environmental friendly and comply with the packaging industry specifications, as well as the possibility to adapt to ever-changing consumer trends and technology.

containers.
