The British Board of Agrément (BBA) is a leading supplier of certification for fabricators operating in the glazing industry. Certification is both a badge demonstrating competence and an indicator of high professional standards.

BBA certification requires fabricators to undergo an audit, and Lancashire Trade Frames has recently been through such a process with regard to its use of Spectus PVC-U window and door systems.

The business uses Spectus Elite 70 for its outwards opening casement and tilt & turn enhanced security windows. With Elite 70 already approved by the BBA, the audit establishes that the fabricator is producing windows and doors consistent with the approved system and that manufacturing and quality processes are adequately controlled.

The BBA has now gathered its evidence and has made the recommendation that Lancashire Trade Frames should transition to the new standard. The certification of the company’s ISO:9001 approved Quality Management Systems now reads:

“The sales manufacture and distribution of white and coloured window & door goods using PVC-U and Aluminium extruded products for the UK, domestic and trade markets.

Design and Development elements are specified from system suppliers, therefore design and development of products and services is excluded”

Mark Rowland, Lancashire Trade Frames’ Managing Director, said, “As a business committed to excellence at every stage in our process, we’re very pleased to have the received this certification. Elite 70 is a high-quality system that really delivers, and this BBA approval provides our installer customer base with all the reassurance they need.”
