In Asia, Malaysia’s local glass industry invested over RM500 million in manufacturing facilities and created more than 10,000 jobs. Vietnam invested USD70.7 million in APB’s brewery in Ho Chi Min City, as the production capacity is expected to increase drastically for Singapore’s Fraser & Neave and Dutch brewing giant; Heineken.

Thailand and Indonesia’s value of imported bottles and other glass containers have increased from 2006 to 2010. Exports have also soared significantly in 2010 in both Thailand and Indonesia. In Europe and North America, glass packaging production volume has increased and spurred by the continuous robust growth in the Asia and Pacific region, global flat glass demand will raise six percent annually through 2014.

With such trends in the glass industries, Glasstech Asia 2013 is playing an even more crucial role in creating a one-stop sourcing destination for cutting-edge products, innovative technologies and sustainable designs in glass products.
