Bostik, the global manufacturer of sealants and adhesives, will be using this year’s Glasstec (hall 17, stand B60) to launch a new product numbering system designed to simplify the product selection process for insulating glass unit (IGU) manufacturers.

From November 1st 2006, products within each IGU sealant type will share a distinctive number code. For example, Bostik’s IGU Polysulfide products will be denoted by a 3000 classification, whereas all Bostik IGU Hot Melt products will be easily identifiable by a 5000 grouping.

Bostik’s entire IGU range will be available under the new system, including flagship products such as P5125 and Hiflo alongside newer lines such as Bostik 5000. Information on all these products will be available at the show.

Richard Sellman, marketing manager at Bostik, believes that the new system is an important step for a company of Bostik’s size and reputation. He comments: “Over the years, Bostik’s extensive portfolio of brands has been enhanced by a successful growth strategy. Subsequently, we are able to offer customers one of the most comprehensive ranges of sealants and adhesives on the market.

“This is precisely why we have introduced the new numbering system. As well as providing our customers with choice, we also want to ensure that product selection is a simple process. Giving each sealant type within our IGU division a specific number range means that manufacturers can easily identify the product they require.”

To find out more about the new numbering system, and about any of the products in Bostik’s extensive IGU range, visit Bostik at Glasstec 2006 (hall 17, stand B60) or alternatively call ++44 1785 272727.
