Float glass factory to blow into Ba Ria Vung Tau

Construction of a float glass factory will begin at the My Xuan A Industrial Zone in Tan Thanh district of the southern coast province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau this September.The factory, the third of this kind in the country, will be built by the Vietnam Glass Industry (VGI).

Designs specify production of 28 million sq.m of internationally standardised float glass per annum.

The factory is scheduled for completion by September 2006.

VGI is a joint venture under the Vietnam Glass and Construction Ceramics Corporation (Viglacera), the Construction Materials Corporation No. 1 (FICO), and the Nippon Sheet Glass Co. of Japan.
