glasstec 2010 now offers exhibitors and visitors a comprehensively revised structure. As the only international trade fair reflecting the entire value chain of glass in all its facets glasstec will convey this USP in future under the new sub-heading: “Glass Production – Processing – Products“.

As part of the new concept glasstec will also be streamlined and the Saturday will be cut. This meets the wishes voiced by numerous exhibitors. As a mirror of the glass market glasstec 2010 will now also be catering to a segment that has seen particularly dynamic development in recent times: solar production technology.

“solarpeq“ for Solar Production Equipment “solarpeq – International Trade Fair For Solar Production Equipment“ is open to all companies offering process engineering/production equipment for thin film and crystalline photovoltaics – be it machinery and equipment for the production of solar applications or suppliers of components/raw materials.

solarpeq dovetails completely with glasstec 2010 in terms of dates and venue in Hall 14 right next to the East Entrance/Eingang Ost. At the same time, the events are exactly tailored to each other in terms of content. One key distinction: visitors will still find solar applications like, for instance, building-integrated photovoltaics at glasstec.

“Over the last two to three years we have seen many exhibitors at glasstec founding their own corporate divisions for solar production technology.

With solarpeq we now offer these customers a dedicated platform and all other companies in this segment the unique opportunity to benefit from the established international structures at glasstec,“ explained Joachim Schäfer, Managing Director at Messe Düsseldorf. The solar theme was already highly represented at glasstec 2008 with its “Glass and Energy” motto boasting over 150 exhibitors and meeting with great response from visitors.

glasstec 2008 even counted among the world’s leading fairs in terms of its range of exhibitors in production engineering/production equipment for thin film photovoltaics (where glass plays a significant role) as well as in terms of the number of fully operating facilities on display in this field.

Skilled Trades with their Own Hall Complex The hall concept at glasstec 2010 will not only be extended with the launch of solarpeq but now also structured even more clearly.

Visitors to the next glasstec will find the glazier trade plus the special glass art show at the glazier trade centre “Zentrum Glaserhandwerk“ in its own complex in Halls 7.0 to 7.2 right next to the North Entrance/Eingang Nord. Complementing the range offered by exhibitors is the “Handwerker-Tag“ day for skilled tradesmen with a supporting programme specially tailored to their needs.

glasstec 2010 and solarpeq 2010 will be held from Tuesday, 28 September to Friday, 1 October. Exhibitor invitations to glasstec and solarpeq will be mailed out at the start of May 2009.
