Bau 2011: UNIGLAS® presents complex applications of glass processingFrom 17th until 22nd January 2011 the cooperation partners of UNIGLAS® are demonstrating the wide range of functions and applications for insulating glass and glass processing at the Bau in hall C2, stand no. 330.

The family run businesses are emphasizing the success of their close collaboration by appearing together at the Messe trade fair.

The choice of motif made by UNIGLAS® Design Glass Design is particularly eye-catching. A large-scale tiger represents the possibilities for the internal and external use of laminated glass with photo realistic printing. Unlimited design possibilities for interior building facades and glass applications are available thanks to the excellent UV-stable printing resolution. Perfectly transparent with an extraordinarily large colour palette, UNIGLAS Design is characterized by high quality printing results. Unlimited processing of the insulating glass is possible.

ShowerGuard® is another highlight: The first shower glass with ionic sealed surface which prevents corrosion of the glass on a sustained basis. Laboratory tests prove that the surface of ShowerGuard shower glass can withstand up to 10,000 cleaning cycles without losing its material-typical performance ability. In the case of a daily wash with a sponge and mild detergent this correlates to a period of up to 27 years. Conventional laminated glass often loses its functionality after less than one hundred washes. The glass becomes rough, blunt, and vulnerable to dirt and limescale buildup and mechanical damage. ShowerGuard shower glass is ideal for use in the bathroom in both a private and commercial environment. Because of the pronounced longevity and the low cleaning and maintenance costs, there is an economic benefit, if nothing else, for hotels and spa facilities.

For the first time the alliance is presenting curved architecture glass with its complex and innovative curved mould technique for individual, diverse and synergetic application possibilities such as facades, foyers and roof areas. As well as cylindrical or conical curved glass, spherical curved moulds can be achieved. In further refining processes these could be manufactured for functional insulating glass, even with security features.

UNIGLAS® Safe alarm glass, a specially developed tempered safety glass with two sensors mounted invisibly in the frame, offers more security and comfort. In comparison to other suppliers, UNIGLAS dispenses altogether with the installation of alarm wires which are clearly visible.

In the range of sun protection, UNIGLAS® presents a flexible UNIGLAS® SHADE anti-sun film, which is integrated into the cavity between panels. Whether it's heat insulation in the winter or heat protection in the summer, whether reliable glare reduction or flexible reflection of the sunlight, with UNIGLAS® SHADE anti-sun film, both are possible. In cold winter months a closed blind improves the U-value (heat transfer coefficient) further. Heat loss is decreased by up to 20% in comparison to conventional thermal insulation glazing. In contrast, the film reflects the strong sunlight in summer and saves on air-conditioning costs. Easy operation is also considered: The blind system can be controlled manually or by remote control, or it can be integrated in a house management system.

The patented Lightglass- und Lightglass Luminis technique is an effective eye-catcher for interiors and exteriors. With Lightglass it's not just about insulating glass or coloured glass. Lightglass is an insulating glass network with a single or several integrated acrylic glass sheets. It can be completely transparent like glass in windows with a view, or can be translucent to act as a screen in banks or large offices. LCD displays, which also serve as interactive information modules, are incorporated into Lightglass Luminius. The insulating glass reflects and absorbs UV-light and provides long term colour retention of the integrated acrylic glass.

A bridge structure out of glass demonstrates the different possibilities of slip resistance from glass surfaces which are incorporated. Next to the specially satined surface CriSamar®, LaserGrip® is emphasized. The glass which can be walked on is slip resistant and at the same time transparent. With a laser, the finest indents are made in the surface, which creates a long lasting "suction pad effect". LaserGrip® glass floors with a digital print integrated underneath the glass layer are also available as an option.

DiamondGuard® is another eye-catcher, the first scratch-proof glass which maintains its elegance and resistance over the years. The glass is refined with a surface similar to diamond. DiamondGuard® is the ideal solution for the house and for furniture such as glass tables, display cases and shelving units.

TROSIFOL® Lumineo offers new accents in planning, especially for architects. The self-luminous PVB-foils reduce the need for the installation of further lights in architectural glazing. Through the combination of safety aspects and design possibilities with light transmission values of up to 60%, Lumineo can be used internally and externally.
