Partnership Underscores Strength in PGT's Growing Commercial Business ASI LIMITED and PGT(R) Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of PGT, Inc. (Nasdaq:PGTI), on March 18, 2008 announced the launch of a joint venture to expand their market reach by providing quality unitized curtain wall solutions to the commercial building industry.

The joint venture will allow ASI LIMITED and PGT to combine market knowledge and resources and to compete for large scale projects. Exterior facade contractors nationally will save time and money by dealing with one organization that will market, design, engineer, and manufacture custom unitized curtain walls.

"By offering a one-stop-shop for unitized curtain walls to the commercial construction industry, we are offering the industry a way to save money and gain control over their projects by dealing with one team that is involved in every stage of the project as it moves from design to construction," said Wayne Varnadore, VP of Architectural Systems at PGT. "Customers will benefit from PGT's strength in manufacturing and supply chain management combined with ASI LIMITED's extensive experience in sales, marketing, engineering and project management. This is another positive step in the expansion of PGT's Architectural Systems commercial product capabilities."

The PGT Architectural Systems Series was developed to serve the needs of those customers in the commercial and residential high-rise window and door market, including condos, hotels, office, retail, education, among others. PGT is headquartered in N. Venice, FL with two additional manufacturing facilities in Salisbury, NC and Lexington, NC. ASI LIMITED, located in Indianapolis, IN, began as a company focused on the glazing industry and evolved into a curtain wall producing company.

"Continued demand for high performance unitized curtain wall in the United States has brought our companies together," adds Ken Smith, President of ASI LIMITED. "We will be the only manufacturer of unitized curtain walls in North America that will control all aspects of manufacturing in-house. This work includes the manufacturing of tempered glass, laminated glass, insulated glass, and aluminum panels that will be integral to the units."

Together, the two companies have over 1.3 million square feet of manufacturing space. The joint venture was finalized in February 2008, and the two companies already have one project in process: the River House in Grand Rapids, MI. At 34 floors, River House will be the state's tallest residential structure. It is currently under construction, utilizing a two-sided structurally glazed unitized curtain wall. Upon completion, the building will have 4,200 units covering 188,000 square feet.
