Following more than a year of close cooperation and development with prestige customer ROCHESTER INSULATING GLASS (R.

I.G) in New York county, ASHTON INDUSTRIAL have perfected a new roller design which keeps batches of glass of any thickness, perfectly spaced and symmetrical right through the washing and drying process. There is no manual intervention required for glass thickness changes. Glass sizes can be totally random within a batch, and sizes as small as 12" x 6" (300 x 150mm) are effortlessly accommodated.

HWPRO horizontal washers are without doubt the most compact high speed machines, with 2 upper and 2 lower pre-spray bars, 2 pairs of low-E compatible cylindrical brushes, pre-drying and final drying, all within an overall length of less than 2 metres*. This professional machine washes and dries at a nifty 12m/minute, with perfect results on all known glass types including PPG Solarban with its wash-off protective coating.

Owner Director of R.I.G. Rick Wolk is delighted: Ashton's Engineering Manager Richard Green commented "It took a lot of careful thought and design, multiple prototypes, patience and persistence but we are all delighted with the end result. We believe R I G have the biggest, fastest furnace in the USA and they like to keep it filled. Our automatic batching system accumulates full bed loads of up to 2500 x 7000mm here. We recently ran extreme batches with as many as 60 lites arrayed 6 across x 10 deep. Every single piece stays perfectly in place, no shifting and no twisting. We now have the most compact footprint, we have the ability to run the smallest lites, and we undoubtably have the best price too, for a dedicated high performance batching washer."

Our sincere thanks to Rick, Gary and the rest of the R I G team for all their effort and patience working with us on this important development.
