Clayton’s smartest glass yet...

Date: 6 May 2015

Clayton Glass has recently launched SMARTGLASS® Ultra 83, which they claim is the industry’s most advanced solar control, true self-cleaning glass for conservatory roofs and rooflights.

The market for specialist conservatory roof glass is really only twelve years old, yet the developments in products over the last two years have been significant and the SMARTGLASS® range has very much led the way.SMARTGLASS® Ultra 83 is now the benchmark for all round performance with warm edge technology, a u-value of 1.0 W/m2K, g-value (solar control) of just 17% and combined with a good level of light transmittance at 25%.

The key to choosing high performance roof glass is about ‘selectivity’, in this case by reducing the solar energy able to enter the structure, yet allowing sufficient light transmission to ensure an open and airy feel, the very fundamental proposition of a glazed extension.

For the last few years SMARTGLASS® has been quietly building market share and the brand is now widely recognised and respected, boasting customers such as Connaught Conservatory Roofs, Prefix Systems and Tailored Roofing Systems. The once 1.4 W/m2K standard for conservatory roof glass has now been replaced by 1.2 W/m2K, with a recent move towards the 1.0 W/m2K SMARTGLASS® range, all with true self clean and warm edge technology offered as standard.

There are impressive glass features available from all the leading European flat glass manufacturers and as a fully independent processor, it’s the role of Clayton Glass as experts, to harness all the best technologies into a single SMARTGLASS® insulated glass unit.

Jason McCabe, commercial director of Clayton Glass commented: ‘SMARTGLASS® Ultra 83 is the result of our research into cutting edge products, thanks to our pan-European network of partners. It’s credentials are unsurpassed and it’s the flagship in our SMARTGLASS® range which includes SMARTGLASS®, SMARTGLASS® Plus+ and SMARTGLASS® Ultimate.’
