US Group WWRD Takes Over Steklarna Rogaška Glassworks

US glassworks group Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton (WWRD) has taken over Rogaška Slatina-based glassworks Steklarna Rogaška for an undisclosed sum.

The new owner intends to increase production and preserve the globally recognised Steklarna Rogaška brand in markets in the region.  

Slovenia's most famous glassworks was sold to the American company by Metropolitana, a company owned by the Ljubljana Archdiocese, which took over the company temporarily in October to "stabilise the ownership situation".
