A project to build a soda ash plant will be launched in 2013, Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Nichkasov told a press conference, BelTA learned.       “We are starting this much-anticipated project this year.

The new facility will satisfy the demand of the glass industry for soda ash and will also manufacture many other products with higher added value that are in demand in the domestic market,” he noted.

The President of Belarus ordered to build a new plant within the current five-year period. “For two years, the Ministry would not accept the contract that was signed with a Chinese company as its effectiveness was quite low and the technologies outdated,” Anatoly Nichkasov said. He added that under that project the prime cost of the product was running high which would  prevent the glass industry from manufacturing competitive products.
