Walker Glass and PPG are pushing the limits once again with the launch of low-e coated acid-etched glass.

Architects now have the choice to use full surface or patterned acid-etched finishes from Walker Textures® on surface 1 with three different Solarban® high performance coatings from PPG on surface 2.The combination of these two products offers the architectural community an opportunity to optimize design and solar performance objectives to achieve a truly unique glazing system.

“Walker Textures® surfaces offer excellent wear, stain and scratch resistance properties and provide exciting performance and functional elements such as high light transmittance, glare control, privacy and aesthetics with no significant impact on solar performance. Also, the Walker Textures® acid-etched glass products are covered by a 10-year warranty on surface degradation,” says Marc Deschamps, Business Development Manager.

“PPG is committed to supporting sustainable building practice, which is why we value this new opportunity to partner with Walker Textures®. The ability to unite Solarban® low-e glasses with Walker’s full range of acid-etched finishes, including bird-safe AviProtek® glass, expands the range of aesthetic and performance options available to architects for energy efficient, environmentally progressive glass.” says Glenn Miner, Director of Construction for PPG.
