USA: Lampwork Glass Class at The Center, Hailey

Date: 29 January 2007

Come learn and explore the age-old art of glass lampworking. Using a torch, you’ll melt and form glass into shapes that can become pendants, beads, marbles, paperweights, stir-sticks or anything you, as an artist, want to create.

The mesmerizing flame will lure you in as you create your own wearable and functional art. Expressing yourself through a new medium will not only expand but also renew your creative spirit.

Instructor Mike Ausman has been working with glass for over five years. He spent a semester at Palomar College in San Diego, California, studying glass and has taken private lessons with soft-glass artist Sharon Gilbert in Chicago and an advanced class with Ed Schmidt. Ausman also studied at the Geological Institute of America and has been working locally as a jeweler for more than four years.
