Spain - the fifth country in the EU glass processing

According to the National Association of production of glass (Anfevi), Spain took fifth place in the ranking of countries, utilizing more than all glass containers.

Leading places went to Germany, France, Italy and England.   

In total in Europe each year is disposed over 42,639,000,000 bottles and glass containers, thereby reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emissions by 7.95 million tons. Spanish contribution to the recycling of this material is 8.5%. This means that every citizen of Spain, an annual average of 75 recycles bottles and other glass containers.

According to the non-profit company «Ecovidrio», Catalonia and Valencia are the regions where people are most rent glass containers for recycling. It also houses the largest number of dumpsters, adapted specifically for the collection and recycling of packaging made of this material.

Also worth noting is that at the moment the country has two advocacy organization whose purpose - to call as many people to the rational use of glass and its processing. These organizations are: the above-mentioned non-profit organization «Ecovidrio», which is designed to observe the separate processing of used containers, as well as consumer platform «Friends of Glass», consisting of Spanish associations.
