Safety Glass Saves Gas Station Clerk

Some protective glass may have saved a gas station clerk's life in Milwaukee early Monday morning.Police said a man prepaid $10 for gas at a Citgo station on Teutonia, but the pump didn't work.The attendant told him to use a different pump.

Police said the man got upset and opened fire on the attendant, but the attendant was behind the safety glass.

Employees said after the attendant's experience, he quit.

"He just called (and) said he'd never come back," a former co-worker said.

The 38-year-old gunman ended up crashing into a snow bank a couple blocks away at Green Bay and Hampton, where police arrested him.
