Rexam, the global consumer packaging group and the world's leading beverage can maker, advises that, further to the announcement on 11 June 2007 of the proposed acquisition of O-I Plastics, shareholders at the Extraordinary General Meeting held earlier today approved the resolution to acquire the entire issued share capital of O-I Plastics as set out in the circular to shareholders dated 11 June 2007.

It is expected that the acquisition will complete early in the third quarter of 2007.
