Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG) is to close a plateglass furnace in Lahti in southern Finland with the loss of 50 jobs, its Pilkington arm said Tuesday.

NSG had launched a round of statutory cooperation procedure talks in Lahti last month.

Glass cutting and packaging operations are to continue in Lahti with a remaining workforce of about 50 people.
