Control of the glass level is an important aspect of most production processes and reliable determination of the exact location of the glass surface is the basis for good control.

SORG has now developed an optical system which monitors the reflection of suitable parts of the superstructure refractory and uses any movement of the images to detect changes in the glass level. The system will be set up at the EME factory in Erkelenz during the glasstec fair, and will be available for inspection by those taking part in the visit to the EME factory on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th September from the fair – see separate news item.Control of the glass level is an important aspect of most production processes and reliable determination of the exact location of the glass surface is the basis for good control.
