Only through the use of heat-insulating triple-plated insulating glasses like the CLIMATOP family, are low-energy houses, passive houses or zero energy houses, which need almost no more heating, feasible.

Especially in these types of buildings, the collection of solar energy plays a major role because thus – especially in winter – considerable energy can be saved.

In connection with the EnEV* and the energy pass, the high-quality insulation of construction components is one of the key topics in the discussion about climate change and energy savings. The coming revised version of the EnEV for 2009 can also be expected to demand a higher thermo-technical performance profile for windows, so that triple-glazing could become the standard in future, particularly for new construction.

* EnEV = Energie Einsparverordnung (German Energy Saving Ordinance)
