Ben Alcock, Business Development Manager at sealant, adhesive and tape specialists illbruck, talks finding the right installation tape for your next project.

You can make more sales, offer better performance and grow your business by embracing the future of window installation.

That’s the message I spent most of last year, talking to window fitters up and down the country.

Silicone served the sector well for many decades. But today, it’s just not up to providing the exceptional performance that homeowners and specifiers demand.

In 2018, I talked a lot about one of the potential alternatives – TP650 Trio, tremco-illbruck’s compressed foam window installation tape.

But while TP650 is fantastic, it’s just one in a huge range of different tape products on offer – with each one excelling in different contexts.

This year, I’ve got a different objective. I want to demonstrate the versatility of installation tape in general, and communicate the extensive choice on offer. Whatever the application, there’s an installation tape to suit.

TP600 Compriband was arguably the original article – one of the very first impregnated joint-sealing installation tapes to deliver twenty-first century performance. It was an outstanding product then, and it still is today.

And if you need a product that excels across the board, there’s TP652 LL, which delivers industry-leading weather-tightness, air-tightness and thermal and acoustic insulation.  It’s quicker and easier to apply than ever, thanks to a liner-less self-adhesive.

That’s down to its patented Step technology – an extra grey layer that delivers more foam on the inside of the joint, equalling higher compression and superb all-around performance.

In short, there’s a vast array of different options available, and, whatever your requirements, there’s an installation tape to suit.

We are also working on new ideas and innovations, so watch this space in the near future!

If you want help picking the right one for you, talk to tremco-illbruck today!
