GlassKote USA Launches `Living Colors for Glass' from Down Under

GlassKote USA, LLC appointed exclusive U.S. importer and distributor by GlassKote Australia. GlassKote(tm) is an exciting architectural and design finish for glass providing over 10,000 vivid colors and sensational finishes. Structured as a joint venture with the manufacturer in Australia, the U.S. Company is now making GlassKote available in the USA for the first time. GlassKote makes its debut in May at the American Institute of Architects Exposition in Las Vegas.
Behind the venture are local entrepreneurs Warren Belkin and Alexsandra Guinan. The couple visit Australia ever year; Alexsandra comes from Australia and keeps them connected to the `sun burnt country.' They discovered a stunning color-coated backsplash in a friend's kitchen in Perth, Australia, and tried to find something similar for their own kitchen in Connecticut. Frustrated at not finding a quality solution in the U.S. and learning that you can't just paint glass, they contacted GlassKote.
GlassKote USA had to beat large glass companies who were willing to pay `big bucks' for the opportunity. What won over the Australians was the couple's passion for the product, their sales and marketing background and their keen eye for something special. "We've never been involved with a product that receives such a strong, emotionally charged positive response -- architects and designers can't wait to get this product. It's really exciting," commented Alexsandra Guinan, principal in GlassKote USA.
The functionality of glass coupled with virtually unlimited color choice is what's really driving the excitement. "We always talked about leveraging our connection to Australia but we never thought we would be bringing something into the U.S. We always thought it would be the other way around," said Warren Belkin, principal in GlassKote USA. "The great thing about GlassKote is that it is a proven technology that people can trust; they can go see installations that look great after 10, 15 or 20-plus years."
