The CBRC Series tempering line is advanced technology of Glaston’s renowned CB concept (Continuous Batch) tempering furnace model and can be operated both in continuous and batch mode.

Glaston has received an order for a CBRC Series flat tempering line to one of the leading glass manufacturers in North America. The order is registered in the company’s fourth quarter 2020 orderbook. The tempering line is scheduled for delivery in Q3/2021.

The CBRC Series tempering line is advanced technology of Glaston’s renowned CB concept (Continuous Batch) tempering furnace model and can be operated both in continuous and batch mode. This enables customers with high capacity needs to flexibly produce high quality glasses from 3 mm up to 19 mm with the same machine.

“Stricter building regulations and tighter glass quality requirements drive demand for safety glass and the North American glass processing market is shifting towards high quality safety glass processing. Our customer requires flawless quality of the end product and the CBRC is an excellent line for complex production with highest quality and capacity,” says Kimmo Kuusela, Head of Sales and Service Americas.

Glaston’s unique Vortex Pro convection system improves the control of air placement onto the surface of the glass and allows the operator to precisely control the thermal profiles.

“Vortex Pro™ is a highly flexible convection system that meets the current challenges of flat tempering. It comprises special software and hardware to provide unlimited heating control. Unlike any design currently on the market, Vortex Pro™ allows heat to be added or taken away from any particular location on the glass sheet,” comments Kimmo Kuusela.
