Glaston To Leverage Product Range, Know-How, Experience and Global Presence to Meet The Needs of The Solar Energy Industry Glaston Corporation, a global market leader in glass processing machines, and the only supplier of a comprehensive “One-Stop-Partner” line of solutions, announced today that it has established a separate Solar Energy business.

This development is in line with the company’s strategy of increasing its focus on the rapidly growing solar energy market.

The Solar Energy business is headed by Mr Claus Carlsen, former Managing Director at Tamglass Glass Processing, who had this to say about the development, “We are excited to launch this new, dedicated offering to the solar power industry. We believe our experience, garnered over 40 years in the glass technologies and machinery arena, will serve our Photovoltaic (PV), Solar Thermal (ST) and Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) customers well.” He went on to add, “Demand for solar energy is increasing worldwide, and with that the demand for the machines that process the glass.”

Solar energy is a multi billion dollar industry expected to grow at double digit rates for the foreseeable future due to increasing government incentives globally and ever tightening emissions controls and environmental concerns. Glaston’s One-Stop-Partner line of solutions delivers a range of services, from medium-sized to large partial lines, all the way to complete factory deliveries. Orders that have already been received include pre-processing, heat treatment, software and maintenance services configurations.

Mika Seitovirta, President and CEO of Glaston Corporation commented, “Players in the solar energy segment are looking for a reliable partner with the financial and organizational strength to handle large projects anywhere in the world. They also demand the highest quality of glass possible, while at the same time keeping production processes cost-effective. Glaston is best placed to meet all of those needs and already has a strong, and growing, order book in solar applications. We are therefore creating this offering to

better service our solar customers.”

Glaston is represented in North America by business units in Greensboro(NC), Pittsburgh (PA) and Guadalajara( Jalisco, Mexico) as well by a manufacturing unit in Cinnaminson(NJ).
