Founder of Xinyi Group Dr. Lee Yin Yee wins the highest honor in industrial sector

Dr. Lee said,“It is a great honor for me to receive the 2023 ‘Industrialist of the Year Award’ from FHKI. This recognition is not for me alone, but also for the long-term contribution of Xinyi to the industry. It also stands for the endorsement and encouragement for us from the entire industrial sector.”

The"Industrialist of the Year Award" was established by FHKI in 2002. This award is conferred on industrialists each year for their distinguished contributions to Hong Kong’s industries, economy, and community. The winner shall be a role model with a passing-the-torch and forward-thinking spirit from modern industrialists. The “Industrialist of the Year Award” and the “YoungIndustrialist Awards of Hong Kong” are known as “The Oscars” in the local industrial sector. Over the years, 22 “Industrialist of the Year Award” and 251 Young Industrialist Awards have been awarded for their outstanding achievements.

Dr. Lee added, “Thirty-some years ago, when most people chose to come to Hong Kong to start a business, I decided to go back to Shenzhen and set up Xinyi Glass, embarking on the journey of running my own business. After years of hard work, XinyiGlass, which began as a small workshop, has grown to become a world-leading integrated glass manufacturer, realizing the dream of ‘China producing her own glass’. In 2005, Xinyi Glass was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and subsequently spun off three companies, Xinyi Solar, Xinyi Energy and Xinyi Electric Storage, for listing. The award is an encouragement for me to continue to lead Xinyi companies in forging ahead and innovating, keeping pace with the country, and integrating into her development plans, thus realize our ambitions and dreams. We are committed to making ‘Xinyi’ a world-class brand, and at the same time, actively giving back to society, treating the world with a grateful heart ”

Dr. Lee is an accomplished industrialist, entrepreneur, and prominent philanthropist, who loves his country and Hong Kong. At present, Xinyi Group has a total market capitalization exceeding HKD100 billion, with more than a 30,000-strong workforce, and the sales network of its 13 major production bases covers more than 160 countries and regions around the world. Over the past forty years since its establishment, Xinyi has donated over RMB100 million of supplies and money to charity and donated more than dozens of Hopeful Schools in the country. In 2008, Dr. LEE was awarded the Medal of Honour by the HKSAR Government; in 2015, the Bronze Bauhinia Star from the HKSAR Government and the Datukship in Malaysia; then this year, the Silver Bauhinia Star from the HKSAR Government recognizing his active contribution to social services and benevolence.
