By consequent development EDMUND ERDMANN GmbH & Co. KG is in the position now to offer its newest generation of VITROMOD® tempering machinery, which main advantages are:-absolute uniform temperature distribution over the complete batch size (+/- 5°C)-different heating zones within furnace with individual heat control -non sheathed heating elements allow quick temperature changes within the furnace -absolute uniform fragmentation picture and excellent evenness-excellent performance of the quench zone by big outlet air section, optimised nozzle shape, even and constant pressure onto the entire operation width and variable speed ventilators-maximum production safety and reliability by use of conveyor drives with maintenance free 3-phase induction motors, long-life heating elements, maintenance free re-tensing chains and belts, lubrication-free operation of conveyor drives, legendary failure safety of the PJ40 PLC system and modular machine design-maximum profitability at min. maintenance by solid machine construction, use of reliable components and modular machine design -short installation period by use of pre-tested components and modular machine design-the average power consumption during operation of EEE´s VITROMOD® is remarkable lower than systems of our competitors as their heat storage systems steadily consume power whereas the VITROMOD® just consumes power during temperature fluctuations to immediately recover the set temperature values-OPERATOR junior the improved version of EEE´s successful OPERATOR system, which offers the following new performances:-Operator´s identification and authorisation via password-Any derived process parameters from process values and set points-Vertical integration to ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Management), eg. plant computer During the last year EEE was able to strengthen their Market position as a supplier of high-quality tempering systems for float glass.

In 2002 EEE commissioned a big-sized tempering system (dimensions 2650 x 4900 mm) in Germany and also installed two medium-sized tempering systems in South Africa with the local Market Leader. To gain these orders the excellent proportion to price and productivity as well as the unique performance characteristics of EEE´s tempering systems when processing modern, high-quality types of glass, i.e. Low-E soft coatings, etc. were of prime importance. In 2002 EEE gained an order for a bending/tempering system (cylindrical) for architectural glass, which will be installed in the Netherlands in 2003 as well as several orders for big-sized tempering systems, which will be supplied to the P.R. of China. Due to the excellent technology of their tempering systems EEE optimistically looks into the future.
