Dubai Investments supports Dubai Autism Center with 2,000 sq. metres of glass for new premises

New DAC facility in Garhoud to accommodate over 200 children with Autism Dubai, June 13, 2015 : In a step that reinforces its commitment to the community in line with its CSR strategy, Dubai Investments PJSC [DI] – a leading investment company listed on the Dubai Financial Market [DFM], has announced its support to Dubai Autism Center [DAC] with 2,000 square metres of glass products from its subsidiary Emirates Glass LLC for use in the construction of DAC’s new custom-built premises.





The new DAC facility, spread across 91,000 square feet at Garhoud near the Dubai Tennis Stadium, will have 34 classrooms which can accommodate over 200 children with Autism, including modern therapy rooms and speech laboratories.



Khalid Bin Kalban, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Investments, said: “Dubai Investments is committed to the cause of Autism. With its support to the new premises of Dubai Autism Center, the Company hopes to reinforce its commitment to create better learning environment for children with Autism-related disorders. The initiative underscores DI’s philosophy in developing the community by nurturing its citizens and fostering their development.”



Mohammad Al Emadi, Director General and Board Member of DAC, said: “Dubai Autism Center has been providing a holistic intervention program to children with Autism and their families. The new premises will allow us to expand these services and extend our support to many families. Autism is a lifelong neurobiological disorder that impairs communication, social interaction and the way individuals perceive the world around them. Autism is on the rise with one out of every 68 children being diagnosed with Autism globally.
