BT calls for 29m high compact Trailer Crane

Date: 18 June 2014

A compact trailer crane hired from GGR Group proved to be the ideal machine for tackling high level reglazing at a BT office in South Shields, Tyneside recently.

The 1200kg capacity Starworker 1200 was hired with a DSZ2 glass vacuum lifter to replace a damaged angled unit at an 18.5 metre height at the £10.5 million One Harton Quay office building.  Working at an 8 metre radius, the Starworker was able to lift the new 330kg unit into position, ready to be fitted by glaziers in a cherry picker basket. The Starworker 1200 model is just 2.3 metres wide which means it can work in limited space whilst lifting to a height of up to 29.2 metres.Working quickly and with minimal set up time, the trailer crane caused no disruption to the working day of the office’s 500 BT employees.

GGR’s Starworker 1200 trailer crane is available for hire and sale, with two other models also available in our trailer crane range, the Starworker 1000 and Starworker 1600.

Take a look at how the Starworker 1200 also completed reglazing work at one of BP’s offices and BBC Broadcasting House in London.

Contact your nearest depot if you would like to find out more about hiring or purchasing one of our Starworker trailer cranes.
