Steklarna Hrastnik designed and created a technically very distinctive bottle for the Slovenia Vodka trademark which is marketed by the USA company GoodVoda.

As a result of four identical walls with uniform distribution of glass and best-in-class glass purity, the bottle gives the impression of an ice cube. Currently 750 ml size bottles are being manufactured and in the next stage this will be followed by manufacturing of 700 ml bottle.

Steklarna Hrastnik was invited to join the project by Fructal from Ajdovscina, which received an order from the company GoodVoda to make unique vodka with added common buckwheat. The client’s wish that the bottle was reminiscent of an ice cube has presented a great challenge for glass engineers since they had to create a bottle with four identical sides and uniform distribution of glass. Uniform wall thickness was kept also in the transition from the bottle neck and the transition to the thicker bottom. It was important to make bottle walls without irregularities since vodka’s name is inscribed on the back side of the bottle and can be read through the front side of the bottle and the contents of the bottle. Special attention had to be given to the bottle cap so that it holds the full bottle weight without loosening when holding it.

“Looking from the technical perspective this was a very complex project but our design team successfully dealt with the problem and found a solution. By creating this bottle we have once more proven that with our knowledge we are capable of making technically most distinctive and complex glass products,” said Andrej Bozic, Steklarna Hrastnik CEO, about creating the distinctive bottle design for Slovenia Vodka trademark.
