The total floor area of these buildings is almost 1.8 million square metres or almost 18% less than the total floor area of buildings completed in 2011. The ratio between completed residential and non-residential buildings was about 51% to 49% of all completed buildings’ floor area. Compared to 2011, the floor area of residential buildings decreased by 28% and of non-residential buildings by 4%. As regards residential buildings, most of them were completed in one-dwelling buildings (almost 82% of floor area), while almost 17% of residential floor area was built in multi-dwelling buildings.
In non-residential buildings more than one third of the floor area was intended for industrial (31%) and trade (5%) activities. As regards floor area, the shares of natural and legal persons in new investment about the sameIn 2012, natural persons completed almost 3,500 buildings with almost 1.0 million square metres of floor area, while legal persons completed almost 680 buildings with the total floor area of almost 820,000 square metres.
As expected, natural persons invested mostly in residential buildings (77% of floor area), of which mostly in one-dwelling buildings (94% of floor area). On the other hand, for legal persons the ratio between completed residential and non-residential buildings was 19% to 81% of floor area; among investments in non-residential buildings, the majority was invested in industrial buildings and warehouses (almost 35% of floor area), followed by investments in public entertainment, education, hospital or institutional care buildings (almost 27% of floor area). Slovenia: building of residential and non residential buildings was slightly lower in 2012
In 2012, almost 4,200 buildings were completed in Slovenia, which is almost 380 fewer than in 2011. Last year 4,160 residential and non-residential buildings were completed in Slovenia.
