On display for the first time at a trade show dedicated to glass processing technology, the new Alfa Romeo 4C and 8 other historic models from the auto maker promise to sparkle among the visitors at the forthcoming Vitrum show, on the calendar at Fiera Milano Rho from October 23 to 26, 2013. The cars from the glorious past of Alfa Romeo exemplify the technological evolution of the Biscione (serpent) brand that led to the creation of the recently-launched 4C, the “Alfa of Alfas”, a pure blend of past and future by the Italian auto manufacturer. The new Alfa 4C takes high-tech materials and highly-evolved performance to new heights, exalting the vehicle's sporty DNA. In its 18th edition, Vitrum, a showcase for the leading international enterprises in the industry of machinery, accessories and special products for glass processing, offers visitors an exclusive journey that celebrates the best in terms of Italian-made creativity and productivity.
According to Renata Gaffo - director and organizer of the trade show – “Vitrum is a point of reference not only for the most sophisticated companies in the highly specialized glass processing sector, but also for the small and large enterprises that have written the history and the success of our country. We share the same values as Alfa Romeo, respect for authentic traditions and the drive to innovate”.
The enormous manufacturing capacity and talent of Alfa Romeo are clearly visible on a thematic journey staged in three distinct areas, demonstrating how typically Italian taste and style have kept pace with the advances of technological know-how. “Alfa Romeo live and in person. An itinerary of Italian excellence” offers a unique opportunity to admire, up close, some of the iconic models from the famous Italian auto maker, on loan from the Alfa Romeo History Museum in Arese.
The first leg of the journey, entitled “The Golden Age”, located in pavilion 13, showcases the iconic models, the ones that made history and contributed to the Alfa Romeo myth around the world: from the 6C 1750 Gran Sport Zagato (1930), to the 8C 2900B Le Mans Touring (1938) and on up to the 159, commonly known as the “Alfetta” (1951) driven to victory in the 1951 World Championship by Juan Manuel Fangio.
The journey continues with “Back on the Track”, in pavilion 22, and is specifically dedicated to the racing and commercial successes of the Sixties and Seventies, the ones that marked Alfa's return to competition, like the Giulia TZ 2 (1965), the 33/2 liter “Daytona” (1968) and the 1750 GT Am (1970). The final leg of the journey, set in pavilion 24, narrates the theme of “Tradition and Avant Garde”, illustrating how the design skills of Alfa Romeo, unrivaled benchmark and expression of immense creative genius during the ‘60s, come back even more elegantly evolved in 2006 with the 8C Competizione, and the recently launched 4C, the new supercar with the heart of a sports car, designed to be exclusive, but also a 'possible' dream for Alfa Romeo fans around the world.
