We've already had the great days in January. At BAU 2013.

Date: 2 April 2013

BAU, the world's leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems, has become more international, more top-class and more professional.

Six successful fair days can be reduced to this common denominator: Once more, this meant full halls with enthusiastic exhibitors and visitor for the trade platform no. 1. And we were right in the middle of it.

This year the captivating effect of BAU was particularly evident. Although the framework conditions could hardly be worse - adverse weather conditions with snow-covered roads and hundreds of flight cancellations - more than 235.000 trade visitors attended the fair in Munich, thus reaching again the record figures of 2011. And in addition, BAU could give proof of being a world's leading trade fair: For the first time, the number of international visitors passed the mark of 60.000. By the way, particularly strong increases were recorded for participants from Russia, China and Japan - an important parameter for the growing global importance of this exhibition.

The notable presence of star architects attending this year's BAU showed that this trade fair has gained in importance for architects worldwide. Daniel Libeskind, whose master plan for the "One World Trade Center" is currently under construction, arrived from New York to attend the BAU meeting there his also famous colleagues Christoph Ingenhoven, Juhani Pallasmaa, Mario Cucinella, Andrei Bokov and Jean-Michel Jaspers.

Amidst this top-class sphere, we first presented our new product field of high-quality design glass under the motto "Create your glass" to the publicat our shared stand with Flachglas MarkenKreis. With this glass we ensure the individual and precise manufacturing of one-off items - at a price that now makes own glass design affordable. The heavy rush of visitors at our stand showed us that we have our finger firmly on the pulse. Some orders could already be negotiated on the spot. Our "Create your glass" photo competition went down well with the public, too.

New experiences, multiple contacts, an international audience and a positive atmosphere: this was in a few words our BAU 2013. Once more, it has become clear that this trade fair is for professionals by professionals. And we have also learnt this: The BAU is just like us. It is constantly improving!
