CONTRAFLAM Structure 60 now exceeds the height and performance specifications of any other U.S. manufacturer of fire-rated glass in a butt-glazed assembly. In addition to meeting ASTM E-119/UL263 in a hose stream test for up to 1 hour, the CONTRAFLAM Structure 60 wall system has exceeded the height of Vetrotech’s CONTRAFLAM Structure 120. CONTRAFLAM Structure 120 (another fire-rated glass product made by Vetrotech Saint-Gobain North America) previously held the record for the tallest fire-rated seamless glass system available on the US market at a maximum height of 126 inches.
Sean Ross, Project Engineer for Vetrotech says, “The CONTRAFLAM Structure 60 is unique since it is the largest fire resistive rated glass product produced in US history and this glass can be installed into angle iron or steel framing.”
“No one in the fire-rated glass industry has ever reached past 6,500 square inches of glass and this product exceeds 7,500 square inches”, says Ross.
