Steklarna Hrastnik Receives Award for Commendable Restructuring at the Zlata Nit Pageant 2012

Steklarna Hrastnik glassworks placed among the finalists at the Zlata Nit pageant 2012 in the big companies category and received a special award for commendable restructuring of the company.

The glassworks received the award for not forgetting about the key value within the company, even at the time of reorganisation - the employees.    





Care for employees and strategic human resources management are the key foundations of Steklarna Hrastnik's success, along with innovation and the care for product quality. Over the past three years, we have invested a great deal in our employees. We introduced an internal mentoring system to pass knowledge among the employees. Each new employee goes through a carefully guided training process. We have developed a horizontal promotion system, an annual appraisal system, and we are stimulating the employees further by rewarding their performance. We have a special programme of preventive education for employees in motion due to the complexity of work, to prevent exhaustion at the workplace. This year we will already be sending our tenth and eleventh group of employees on a preventive vacation of this kind. We place great emphasis on coordination of private and business life. We take care of development of key personnel.

It is a clearly expressed opinion of our co-workers, a reflection of everything we have done and how these changes are perceived by our employees,« said Andrej Božič, General Manager of Steklarna Hrastnik d.o.o., who has been leading the glass company with more than 153 years of tradition since the beginning of the year 2010 and has pulled it out of red numbers in a short period. »The true award goes to each employee of Steklarna Hrastnik individually. They are the ones who have accepted the changes as their own, felt them, performed them, and thus made a difference«.
