Lead-free toughened enamelled glass EMALIT® EVOLUTION can now be manufactured into sealed units in a range of 11 standard colours in less than 10 days, as a result of a £50,000 investment in new production facilities at the GLASSOLUTIONS factory in Coventry.

EMALIT® EVOLUTION is used primarily for external façades in insulated spandrels or cladding panels in non-vision areas for an aesthetically clean appearance.The new production capability means that as well as the standard range of 11 colours, bespoke colours and colour-matching services are available, enabling most colours to be replicated.Standard sizes are 200mm x 200mm to 1600mm x 3000mm, although larger sizes are available on request.

GLASSOLUTIONS regional general manager, Steve O’Brien, said: “This is a fantastic new service for our customers. It offers great flexibility in terms of colour options and sizes, coupled with excellent lead times of around 10 days. Single glazed pieces can be supplied in less than five days.

“It is a very practical and decorative product that is not widely available in the UK, although it is popular and widely specified in the architectural facades market, so we’re pleased to bring value to the supply chain.”

More environmentally friendly

EMALIT® EVOLUTION is an opaque coloured glass, produced by uniformly enamelling one side of the glass. The enamel is free from lead and other dangerous metals making it more environmentally friendly and totally recyclable. During manufacture, the almost total absence of pollutants protects nature and health.

Coloured façades

It is available in a wide range of colours. Additional decorative effects can be obtained by enamelling different base glasses and/or designing specific colours.

EMALIT® EVOLUTION is a toughened safety glass with the mechanical properties and durability inherent to clear toughened glass. The colours remain totally stable over time.

Simple installation

It is as easy to install as ordinary toughened glass.
