Prestigious Architectural Award for Norwegian Church with NSG Group Glazing

Pilkington InsulightTM Protect Triple is used for the community church in Knarvik, which won the “Popular Choice Award” of Architizer A+ Awards 2015 organized by Architizer.  Architizer is a network for high-end architecture online.

A jury of over 300 distinguished leaders from diverse fields and over 200,000 general voters selected the winner.

This wooden church, in Hordaland county, Norway, is highly praised for its innovative design and modern façade.

Pilkington InsulightTM Protect Triple is a triple IGU (insulated glass unit) consisting of Low-E coated glass with high thermal performance and safety-oriented laminated glass. The glass used for the church reaches its ceiling and as tall as five meters.

Houses and buildings in cold climates have traditionally avoided large windows because heat is largely lost through these openings. However, with the use of highly insulated Pilkington InsulightTM Protect Triple, optimum temperature can be maintained indoors, enabling an eye-catching, majestic design using glass quite extensively even in very cold regions. Laminated glass also ensures safety.

The NSG Group aims to be a VA Glass Company providing a wide range of value added glass products to satisfy the needs of various markets and regions.
