Pilkington PLC has until Aug. 1 to make a decision on the lease of its downtown Toledo headquarters, after receiving a one-month extension this week.
Still, the producer of glass for buildings and vehicles said it intends to remain in its offices. The British firm, whose North American operations are based in Toledo, and its landlord, Ohio Building Co.Ltd., are awaiting two governmental decisions before signing a deal, said Dave Ball, managing partner of the landlord.
Pilkington expects Toledo city council to consider on Tuesday its requested job incentives, Ohio Building expects its request for a low-interest state renovation loan to be considered this month.
Both Mr. Ball and Pilkingtons director of property management, John Keil, anticipate signing a lease in a few weeks.
"At this point in time, our full intention is to remain downtown," Mr. Keil said.
